Lamplighter Arts CIC are delighted to let you know that Church Road Lantern Parade is on Saturday 25th March 2023 at 6:30pm on Church Road.

 

For families with young children or those who would be comfortable with more space co, we suggest meeting us at St Georges Park for the end of the parade.

Those taking part in the parade - you will have your wristbands from your workshop or lantern pack - please read your instruction sheet carefully and we will see you on the day! 

​

Lamplighter Arts CIC are working with three local schools to create this event alongside the wider community.

​

Lantern-making kits and a series of workshops are available from Little Treasures Toy Shop on Church Road (cash only) and we can’t wait to be making lanterns in our own community again.

 

The event will explore the stars and skies above our heads and is paired with Govandi Arts Festival, in Mumbai, India.

How to get here

The parade will start at Morse Road and finish at St Georges Park. 

​

There is an intercity train to Lawrence Hill Station and then a short walk to Church Road 

​

From the city centre, you can catch the 42/44/45 and 35 buses and get off just outside The Stillage pub for the beginning of the parade or outside ALDI for the end.
